50 Cent Says He Isn’t a Bitcoin Millionaire
Rapper 50 Cent has agreed he’s not a bitcoin millionaire, despite announcing that he was over a month ago.
In January, there was a post, that after selling copies of his 2014 album Animal Ambition in exchange for Bitcoin, the rapper gained around $10 million.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, bragged of his sudden Bitcoin wealth on Instagram, posting screenshots of reports of the alleged fortune with the caption; “Not Bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me”.
After that incident followed 50 Cent’s announcement- “staying with the times” by accepting cryptocurrency payments.
But in February Jackson denied the fact he was owning millions worth bitcoins after being pressed in bankruptcy court.
The boastful Instagram post has also been deleted.
Earlier this month the rapper was discharged from bankruptcy after paying off the $22 million in debt he had accrued. In bankruptcy documents Jackson pointed that he didn’t deny the reports.
According to CNBC, Jackson wrote in the documents;
“When I first became aware of the press reports on this matter, I made social media posts stating that ‘I forgot I did that’ because I had in fact forgotten that I was one of the first recording artists to accept bitcoin for online transactions. ”
He also mentioned, he didn’t publicly deny the reports about his bitcoin holdings and suggested he had made millions, which was a result of his reasonable decision to accept bitcoin payments.
Maybe the rapper said this to avoid tax payments, as the money isn’t endless, especially for U.S.
