According to a vacancy which was posted on the USAJobs recruitment portal of the US government, the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) is searching a “Cryptocurrency Securities” Advisor.
The vacancy states that the Division of Trading & Markets requires an expert in the field of blockchain, who also knows federal laws and will help in developing a “comprehensive plan” for managing cryptocurrencies and digital securities.
In addition to the main position of the lead representative of the department in the SEC FinTech working group, the job involves liaison with the Financial Stability Oversight Council digital assets and other US regulatory agencies working group as well.
Candidates applying for this position need to have a doctorate degree in law and have at least 4 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, be a member of the Federal Bar Association and have a “good reputation”.
The primary contract will be signed for 2 years and provides a salary from $144,850 to $238,787 annually.
