Amazon Has Received Patents For Development In The Field Of Cryptography And Distributed Data Storage
The US authorities have issued two patents, applications for which were filed by Amazon. The first certificate certifies the intellectual property of the company on the method of distribution of keys in the “Merkle Tree” and the second — on the distributed data storage system.
Amazon has received two patents aimed at protecting the integrity of digital signatures and optimizing distributed storage. The U.S. patent and trademark office published patent data on November 13.
The first document describes a method of “signature delegation” to”protect the integrity of digital signatures and encrypted communications”, by generating, distributing, validating, and revoking one-time cryptographic keys.
The structure of the organization of keys in the system described in the patent is similar to the” Merkle Tree ” responsible for data security.
Amazon’s patent is aimed at managing the process of delegating the signature function from the Central to the authorized elements.
The second patent deals with distributed data storage. It offers a “network encoding technique” that uses “shards”, each representing a logical distribution of the data stored in the selected network. According to the authors of the invention, such a method can minimize the redundancy of the storage and at the same time ensure maximum availability, durability and means of recovery.
In April of this year, Amazon received a patent for the creation of a “streaming information market”, where data will be combined into groups for batch issuance in real time. The new service is expected to be provided to private and public organizations.
