ON ANDROID USERS OF THE OPERA BROWSER WILL NOW BE ABLE TO BUY ETHEREUM FOR FIAT
Opera Company opened the possibility for users of its browser for Android to buy Ethereum cryptocurrency (ETH) for fiat money directly through the built-in crypto-wallet.
The new service was implemented thanks to the cooperation with Safello cryptocurrency broker, which provides exchange of Fiat money for cryptocurrency. Payments can be made using credit and debit cards, as well as verified payment networks, including Swish in Sweden, the company said in a statement.
Initially, the new service will be available to users in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The identity of cryptocurrency buyers will be verified through BankID and NemID verification solutions. Opera believes that the solution from Safello will reduce the time of ETH wallet replenishment “from hours or even days to less than a minute”.
“We think that the next important phase for cryptocurrencies will be their use, and in order to achieve wider adoption, they should be easy to buy and easy to apply. We believe that the browser will be the entry point for many applications. Thanks to our partnership with Safello, we are taking another step towards this,” said Charles Hamel, head of the Opera Crypto product Department.
In December, Opera introduced a browser for Android devices with a built-in crypto wallet designed for use in Web 3. The product supports operation with the ETH, the tokens created by the standards of ERC-20 ERC-721, as well as work Еthereum-dapp.
