Billboards In Support Of Bitcoin
A prominent cloud mining organization based out of Iceland Genesis Mining put out a few billboards outside Warren Buffett’s office this previous week through which they want to show their support to bitcoin and telling the expert financial specialist that as he wasn’t right about Google and Amazon, he couldn’t be right about bitcoin as well.
The fabulous speculator-investor who called the purchasers of bitcoin “rat poison squared”, had earlier this month said that they blossom with the expectation they will find someone else who will pay more for it.
Comparing bitcoin request to tulip insanity in 17th century Holland, Buffett said it was inscrutability behind the digital money which cause such an enormous surge in its cost.
Bitcoin cost floated around $8,500 on Friday, tumbling from around $19,000 level, where it exchanged December a year ago.
In fact, Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, said digital forms of money like bitcoin are non-beneficial resources like gold. So anybody getting it is wagering that someone else will pay more for it later.
Charlie Munger, Berkshire Vice-Chairman, said purchasing bitcoin with the expectation that someone else will outbid you later is an awful business.
Talking about Amazon and Google at Berkshire’s annual general meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, Buffett said, “I made the wrong decision on Google and Amazon.”
“We’ve certainly looked that them… the truth is, I’ve watched Amazon from the start and what Jeff Bezos has done is something close to a miracle. If I think something is a miracle, I tend not to bet on it. Bill Gates told me early on (to look at) Google,” he said.
