Bitmain, the Chinese company, decided the release date of the new generation of ASIC miner, Antminer S17. The release be held on April 9, after which the devices will be available to customers around the world.

Antminer S17 will continue to be designed for the extraction of cryptocurrencies only on the SHA-256 algorithm, primarily Bitcoin and BitCash. Company’s representatives claim that the energy efficiency of this 2nd generation 7-nm chips, which is used in the S17 model is 30% higher than that of the models of the previous line.

“The size of the new device is the same as of S15 from the previous line, but S17 will have a higher hash rate,” Finance Magnates reports.

The new line will be presented by 3 device models: Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17 and Antminer T17. Recently it became known about the Bitmain plan, according to which deliveries of the new line of ASIC miners will be rewarded with the half of the bitcoin block award. Thus, the company wants to restore the lost positions in the market, also improve its financial position.
