Coinbase Plans Expansion Of Its Activities In Ireland
The American giant Coinbase, a digital currency exchange headquartered in San Francisco, California, is considering to make Dublin a place for its next office as part of a global expansion.
The San Francisco-based company, which handles one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, is in the process of investing the local market with the assistance of the State Agency for Industrial Development of Ireland.
Coinbase established a local subsidiary, Coinbase Ireland Limited. Coinbase Ireland Limited was set up on Monday the 16th of July 2018. Their current address is Dublin 2, and the company status is Normal. The company’s current directors Michael Timothy Lempres, Alesia Jeanne Haas, Zeeshan Feroz and Asiff Hirji. This Irish company shares its Eircode with at least 1,043 other companies. The company did not comment on its plans for Dublin, including the composition of the team that it intended to build in the Irish capital.
The digital currency platform, established in 2012, allows the purchase and sale of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin cryptocurrencies.
Coinbase has more than 20 million users and has already processed more than $ 150 billion on its platform.
In August last year, the exchange gathered a round of the D series worth $ 100 million and began its progressive expansion.
Only this year the exchange made eight acquisitions in the fintech, cryptocurrency field and digital identification sectors, and also invested in Australian block games.
