Cryptokitties Attracted Another $ 15 Million Investment
The company behind the popular game CryptoKitties attracts venture capital investments faster than users churn out virtual kittens.
Dapper Labs has announced the completion of Venrock’s $ 15 million investment round, which has doubled the company’s valuation compared to the March round. GV and Samsung NEXT also participated in the financing of the company. In total, the company raised $ 27.85 million, also breaking the barrier of $ 1 million in breeding of virtual cats.
The company, which became known after the stunning success of Cryptokitties last year, plans to use the funds raised to open a division in Los Angeles and release other games and entertainment applications based on blockchain technologies
Although more than 1,000 applications were launched on the Ethereum blockchain, according to DappRadar, only a few of them attracted a significant user base. Exchanges and gaming applications are the most popular of the success.
This summer, the team of CryptoKitties signed a partnership agreement with the non-profit organization ACTA to create Honu-the world’s first cryptokitties-ambassador, protecting the ecosystem of the world ocean-and together with Richard Branson held a charity event.
