HEAD OF IRAN STATE DEPARTMENT: WE INTEND TO DEVELOP THE BLOCKCHAIN INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE COUNTRY
Deputy of management development and resources, Alireza Daliri, at the vice presidency for science and technology, announced that the Iranian government will promote the development of the blockchain industry.
“We are able to develop infrastructure for the use of blockchain technologies, combining the forces of the government and the private sector,” he explained.
Daliri added that blockchain can reduce the level of bureaucratization. The vice-presidency for science and technology will be responsible for the implementation of the relevant program.
“We need to coordinate our efforts with other countries, to develop new technologies and blockchain,” Daliri said.
According to the official statement, the Iranian government will decide whether to support the blockchain industry in the near future or not.
Earlier, under pressure from the United States, the international system SWIFT disconnected the Central Bank of Iran from the global monetary network: residents of the country were suddenly deprived of many financial services. Against the background of these restrictions, the authorities announced the completion of the national cryptocurrency development process.
After the introduction of new sanctions, the Iranian authorities continued to actively develop the blockchain system, to support the affected financial sector.
