Irish Blockchain Expert Group Starts Blockchain Initiative
IBEG (Irish Blockchain Expert Group) led by national agency IDA Ireland, has started Blockchain Ireland, to assist in promoting and sharing data regarding the blockchain in the country.
According to the website, the initiative is a joint attempt of government and Irish based organizations, which have the purpose to facilitae the Irish blockchain enviroment for industry to start their blockchain-associated enterprise, or develop their operating business.
The project mentioned, “Our aim is to be the go-to place for all blockchain-related news, queries and information for Ireland, so we will be focusing on curating relevant content and making it available on the website in a usable form.”
IDA Ireland, a national agency which bears responsibility for engaging international direct investment, is running the initiative, forming IBEG in 2016 with the task of stimulating Ireland as a universal centre of excellence for blockchain.
Separately from IBEG, the Blockchain Ireland program is indicated to be organized by the Department of Finance, Enterprise Ireland, and Consensys, a US-based blockchain venture production studio, established by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin.
Chief Information Officer of IDA Ireland Keith Fingleton mentioned, “IBEG and the Blockchain Ireland initiative will assist blockchain projects and businesses in leveraging the beneficial environment in Ireland to foster increased innovation, and develop a national, European, and international blockchain ecosystem.”
In fact the National University of Ireland Galway lately forced the government to support and develop the blockchain innovation technology in the country, for its capacity to strongly effect economic increase.
