KFC WILL START ACCEPTING DASH IN VENEZUELA
The international food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) will accept payments in the DASH cryptocurrency in Venezuela.
The first KFC, which will open the possibility of payment in the DASH cryptocurrency, is located in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. A new option will appear in 24 other fast food restaurants across the country, Forbes reported.
Dash developer Alejandro Echeverria noted that the cryptocurrency is already used in more than 500 outlets and its use in Venezuela will grow:
“Accepting fast payments from such a major global brand as KFC is a great success for cryptocurrency and growth for its application, not only from the point of view of users, but also from the point of view of sellers”.
Echeverria noted that the unprecedented level of inflation in Venezuela, which according to recent IMF estimates, this year will reach 1000%, has led to the fact that the country’s residents are increasingly turning to cryptocurrencies.
According to Cryptonaute, KFC restaurants will also have the option Dash Text, which allows you to create a wallet and make transactions via SMS.
Recall that at the end of October, the Venezuelan cryptocurrency Petro became available to all interested parties for Fiat and major cryptocurrencies, but buyers received a certificate of ownership instead of the cryptocurrency itself.
Last week, the Venezuelan President announced a forced increase in the value of national cryptocurrency Petro in relation to the sovereign bolívar, and this week, during his visit to Moscow, he invited Russia to continue to make payments in the oil sector in the national crypto urrency Petro.
