Malta Bankers’ Association Holds Seminar Regarding Blockchain
The Malta Bankers’ Association (MBA) is holding a seminar regarding the ‘Blockchain, Innovative Technologies and Regulation’. The main purpose of the seminar is regarding the concerns and problems of financial service providers which are mainly connected with lately-approved comprehensive DLT legislation.
The seminar will be conducted by a qualified experts in the mentioned field, such as Leonard Bonello and James Farrugia who are in the partnership with Ganado Advocates.
Participants will be ensured with a general idea of the three national legal actions which intend the regulation of these new technologies like the Malta Digital Innovation Act, the Innovative Technology Arrangements and Services Act and the Virtual Financial Assets Act.
The spokesmen will also ensure members with an analysis of the different types of service providers in the marketplace, their business models and the types of risks which may be related to each category of service providers. They will also address the implications of the Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive and its applicability to such service providers. The mentioned seminar shall be carried out on July 24th at Le Méridien St Julian’s Hotel and Spa and will try to give the solution to the question regarding ‘Blockchain, Innovative Technologies and Regulation’.
