Second largest meme token by market capitalization Shiba Inu has partnered D3 in an effort to bring interoperable domains to web3.
The partnership will see D3, a next-generation domain company assist SHIB to apply for the .shib TLD through ICANN during its upcoming application window.
The first mover partnership will bring interoperability to DNS domains and the SHIB ecosystem, while reaffirming SHIB’s position as an innovator within the Web3 industry. This partnership makes SHIB one the the first decentralized ecosystems to partner with D3.
D3 has been collaborating with leading Web3 projects to apply for their own TLDs through ICANN, the non-profit multi-stakeholder organization responsible for the maintenance of the Internet’s domain name system.
“Our partnership with D3 allows us to scale outside of the existing #ShibArmy and give over 5 billion Internet users direct access to the SHIB ecosystem,” said Shytoshi Kusama, Lead Developer of Shiba Inu.

Through this partnership, D3’s patent-pending platform will integrate traditional Internet and Web3 ecosystems to deliver enhanced utility, security, and universal access for “real Web3 domains.”
D3 will also use its team’s several years of experience in DNS and web3 technologies to accelerate the adoption of Web3 and modern digital identities through partnerships with leading blockchain ecosystems.

Offering More than Just Fun
Meme tokens are known as joke cryptocurrencies created for fun and nothing more. However recently, meme token projects like Shiba Inu have demonstrated that they can be more than just a joke. The launch of domains for the project will mark the height of its innovation in the industry.
The partnership with D3 will enable the #ShibArmy to collect and showcase their digital identities, replacing the long, impersonal wallet addresses users have become accustomed to and taking these to the current internet upon approval.
Shiba Inu’s already existing Shib Name Service (SNS) will transition to D3’s infrastructure, enhancing the overall user experience and setting the foundation for strong, interoperable digital identities using the global Domain Name System.
Impact on SHIB
With this innovation coming to Shiba Inu, one thing is certain, that SHIB and other tokens that are used in the Shiba Inu ecosystem will get the attention of investors and other crypto users when it is done.
The tokens will also like;y increase in value as more investors develop interest in them as a result of the technologies that the ecosystem is bringing to the crypto and DeFi space.
This combined with the SHIB routine burn will cause a reduction in the supply of the token and a hike in its value eventually. This also makes Shiba Inu the most innovative of the meme tokens, even though it wasn’t the first to be created.
