THE SWISS FUND LAUNCHED A PAN-AFRICAN CRYPTOCURRENCY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION’S ECONOMY
Public organization AFRO Foundation, located in Geneva, announced the release of the first pan-African cryptocurrency AFRO, created specifically to promote the economic development of the entire continent. The first 200,000 users will receive 50 tokens as a reward.
In a press release, the AFRO Foundation emphasizes the socio-economic importance of a large cryptocurrency project for the development of the entire region.
The creators of the pan-Asian cryptocurrency note that against the background of unstable and numerous national currencies, a single cryptocurrency will provide a “reliable, safe and secure solution” necessary to solve the problems of the continent. NGOs did not ignore the environmental aspect in the development of the project:
“AFRO is a 100% Proof-of-Stake (PoS) “eco-friendly” cryptocurrency: it requires very little or no electricity, the latest blockchain developments were taken into account when the Protocol was been creating”.
To develop and maintain the project, the organization established a special Committee, which included international experts joined by the desire to help the development of the continent. Over time, the Committee will expand to include representatives of various activity fields and help the development of a single cryptocurrency.
In June, the organization released 750 billion AFRO, 600 AFRO per inhabitant of Africa. Now the Committee promises to give 50 AFRO to the first 200 000 users.
