Ukraine: The Chief of Bitcoin Exchange Kidnapped

A group of men kidnapped Pavel Lerner in a Black Mercedes-Benz, as the local media reports in Ukraine.

According to his Linkedin profile, Lerner graduated Russian Kursk University and now he is an important blockchain expert in Russia. The news of kidnapping have shocked international cryptocurrency community.

Sussex-based EXMO described Pavel Lerner as an analytics manager. The website also suffered from DDOS attack after kidnapping.

The Telegraph reports, that a Russian backed broadcast company considers Mr Lerner’s kidnapping not dangerous for business.

According to company’s statement:

“Any information regarding his whereabouts is very much appreciated. Despite the situation, the exchange is working as usual. We also want to stress that nature of Pavel’s job at EXMO doesn’t assume access either to storages or any personal data of users. All users funds are absolutely safe.”
