The Union Of European Football Associations Introduces The System Of Selling Tickets Based On Blockchain
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the successful testing of the new ticketing system for matches using Blockchain technology. As stated on the organization’s website, the new system makes the process of distributing tickets more simple and safe, while also preventing their duplication.
The system was tested for the first time when selling tickets for the May final of the Europa League between Madrid “Atletico” and the French “Marcel” in Lyon, where with her help 50% of tickets were sold.
The experiment was continued this Wednesday at a match in Tallinn for the European Super Cup between Atletico Madrid and the Champions League winner Real Madrid. As noted in the statement of UEFA, through special applications for devices on iOS and Android were sold 100% of tickets for the game.
UEFA’s ticket-operated ticketing system works in combination with mobile Bluetooth devices that are located at the entrance to the stadium.
The organization added that they plan to continue developing the system for the purpose of its further use in other football matches.
